Multilevel List

At drawing up of multilevel lists it is necessary for each item of the list to set its level. Level of item of the multilevel list is defined on its indent. The item having intent less, than the size of one tabulation (within the first tabulation) are considered as top level elements (level 1). The elements having indent less, than the size of two tabulation (within the second tabulation) are considered as item of the second level. The elements having indetn less, than the size of three tabulation (within the third tabulation) are considered as elements of the third level. And so on …

The hierarchical list of lines prepares so:

  1. For every line set its correct horizontal position. Thus, you set its level of a line in the future hierarchy.
  2. Move the first line of the future list in the necessary position across. Thus, you set horizontal position of the future list, its indent.
  3. Select the first and all other lines of the future list and execute operation “Multilevel List of Lines” by means of the popup menu or on hotkeys.

The hierarchical list of paragraphs prepares so:

  1. Break the initial text into paragraphs, i.e. insert empty lines dividing paragraphs in proper places. The turned out paragraphs are future elements of the list.
  2. Move the first line of the first paragraph in the necessary position across. Thus, you set horizontal position of the future list, its indent.
  3. For each item-paragraph of the future list set correct position horizontal the first line concerning position of the first line the first paragraph. Thus, you set level of the item in the future hierarchy.
  4. Select the first and all other paragraphs of the future list and execute operation “Multilevel List of Paragraphs” by means of the popup menu or on hotkeys.

For numbering in hierarchical lists the Arabian digits with points are used. Other types of numbering are not provided. For flat lists all other kinds of numbering set in options (alphabetic, Latin numbers, etc.) are applicable.

Bullet hierarchy uses the set of bullets set in options. For bullet of levels markers in that order in what they are listed in options are used: for a designation of the first level the first bullet from options, for the second level the bullet second for an order is used.

Making hierarchical (multilevel) lists, it is possible to cancel numbering of the most deeply enclosed paragraphs (or lines). The Most deeply enclosed paragraphs usually represent the basic text explaining, opening contents of the numbered elements. This text as a rule does not demand numbering (see Exclude low level option).
